Anti Spam/Anti Virus

The importance of email cannot be underestimated, however the biggest issue concerning email is keeping it secure and functioning, SPAM, Viruses and malware are having major impacts on businesses today. The threat to companies from the shear level of these threats can effect the overall operation of the company, every day the threats become more malicious and sophisticated bringing some corporate systems to a standstill. Almost 83% of all mail monitored on the RETP systems is SPAM or threat related, increasing slightly year on year.

RETP can protect and control business assets from these email attacks. The volume of threats is such that valuable communication resource is taken up processing these threats and staff time reading and deleting unsolicited mail can reach many hours per week. The solution offered works with all types of mail servers and is and can work in conjunction with the companies desktop anti-virus/spam solutions.

How it works:-

• The client points their Mail Exchange (MX) record to the RETP servers.

• All mail is directed through these servers and presented to the clients mail server.

• The RETP systems evaluates all mail and compares against known spam senders and sever black list.

• Over time the system builds a profile using predictive technology, thus 'learning'.

• Spam can be dealt with using a variety of methods, i.e. drop, forward with subject modification re-direct to specified recipients or bulk email address for manual inspection.

•  When a virus is detected it is held in quarantine for a pre-defined timescale

• All inspected mail is then forwarded onto the clients mail server, thus removing overhead on communication links and mail servers.

• Any issues are managed outside the clients network.
